  1. We had a great club championships recently and we had some really great results, especially from our younger, more novice competitors.

I was really pleased to see so many of the younger swimmers being prepared to give it a go - that bodes really well for our future!

We will present medals for the first three in age group, boys and girls. We are going to try the same as last year and have a bit of a social as well as the presentations. This will be held on Porthpean Beach on Tuesday 19th July at 6.15pm. Everyone is welcome to come along, even if they are not receiving medals. The more the merrier!!

  2. The dates for the County events have now been added to our events page - so please have a look and make a note of the dates.

For 2017, consideration times have been set as well as qualifying times. Swimmers achieving CCASA consideration times must have achieved these times at ASA Licenced meets within the 12 months prior to the closing dates. Swimmers who have consideration times are not considered as entered until their entry is confirmed to the club. Acceptance of swimmers will be based on the fastest submitted times and swimmers with consideration times will be accepted as running time of the competition permits. Swimmers who are not successful with their entry will automatically be accepted into the County Intermediate Gala to be held on 1st and 2nd April 2017.

The qualifying and consideration times have now been added to our useful information page

  3. Results are just out from Round 1 of the Cornwall & Devon summer swimming league which was held at Plymouth on Sunday 17th April. The good news is that our combined team of St Austell/TR1 finished top of Gala 3 with a total of 497 points. The following teams were Dinnaton 482, Launceston 464, Tavistock 420 and DRSA B 271. That ranks us as 6th after the first round.

Round 2 will take place at Plymouth again on Sunday 5th June. We will be in Gala 2 and competing against Dawlish, Exmouth, Torquay and North Cornwall. Warm up on that day will be 1pm for a 1.15pm start. Hopefully, all the same swimmers can compete

  4. Allan has secured some Long Course training for our swimmers at The Life Centre, Plymouth on Saturdays 2/4/16, 23/4/16, 7/5/16 and the 4/6/16

This is essential for all performance squad swimmers.

5:30-6:30 junior performance 5:30-7:30 senior performance.

Please let Brigid and Allan know the sessions you can make. On the 2/4 there is public free diving (payable to the life centre) at 3:30pm which would be a great social before training.

  5. Twenty two of our swimmers competed at the CCASA Intermediate Gala at Penzance on Saturday 19th March 2016. The Gala is for swimmers who didnt qualify for the recent County Championships, but is equally as important for those swimmers as they look to improve.

St Austell had a wonderful meet again as all the swimmers remembered to bring their passion with them. The twenty two swimmers competed in a total of 84 swims and between them achieved  a huge number of 74 PB times - Thats 88%!

They also walked away with 15 gold, 13 silver and 11 bronze medals between them. It was lovely to see so many happy faces!

So, well done to all. You were a credit to Dan and Allan
