County Champs - Thank you

My first blog post of the County Champs is one of thank you. As many of you will know, and some will not, these events could not go ahead without the teams of volunteers who are behind them all - and they are all volunteers!

Many of the officials started doing so when their children were swimming. In many cases those children have grown up and stopped swimming, but the officials carry on giving up their time, as they know that without them these meets would not be able to go ahead. So thank you to our band of officials who were doing their bit today - Chris, Scott, Tash, Charlotte and Ben. (Thanks also to Matt and Karen, who weren't there today but do their bit very often). These officials represent our club and it is very important that we have officials who do represent us, otherwise we may not be able to compete in certain galas.

These meets could also not go ahead without clubs hosting certain days and today was our day! So thank you to Anne, Vicky and Maisie for manning the gate, selling programmes for the County and selling raffle tickets where the proceeds of which come to our club. (Vicky's daughter was not even swimming today); to Helen T and Kat for taking around the very necessary drinks to the officials: to Ellen and Rhonda for "running" the results from the recorder to the medals desk and for general view; to Monique, Michelle, Rachael, Vicky and Jo for looking after the presentation of medals; and to Clive, Julie, Cheryl, Michelle, Hayley and Gracie for marshalling the swimmers in a very professional manner.

Thanks also to our Team managers, James, Vicky, Michelle and Andrea and to Allan for being so supportive of the swimmers and giving them every encouragement. All this meant is was very easy for me to Team lead.

I think we did an amazing job and I would like to thank you all. I would also like to thank all the parents/guardians of the swimmers for taking them to training and to meets. They would not be able to enjoy the sport they do without all your committment too!

We did a great job today - thank you!
